Vinton tax office reopens | News KTSM 9

FILE – This Wednesday, February 13, 2019, a file photo shows part of a federal tax form 1040 printed from the Internal Revenue Service website. On Friday, August 21, 2020, the Associated Press reported articles circulating online incorrectly claiming that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s tax rate on a family earning $ 75,000 a year would drop from 12% to 25%. A current federal tax rate of 12% applies to families earning up to $ 80,000 or individuals earning up to $ 40,000. That would still apply under Biden, who has publicly vowed not to raise taxes for anyone earning less than $ 400,000. (Associated press)
