A deceptively simple product that I never thought I needed, and didn’t think I needed, has become a staple in skin care. I am referring to a new product, Easy On The Eyes Daily Hygiene Facial Spray, created by a new brand, Twenty / Twenty Beauty. I use it at least once, sometimes several times a day and love it.
Easy On The Eyes is a refreshing spray that cleanses and soothes. I spray it directly on my face and I especially like using it in the morning as I tend to get a bit of crust around my eyes and stick to my lashes (the normal result of tears and mucus that doesn’t blink. eyes during sleep). I also like to use Easy on the Eyes as a second cleanse in the evening – I spray and then wipe off with a cotton ball.
Twenty / Twenty Beauty is founded by ophthalmologist Dr Diane Hilal-Campo. Convinced that many of the eye sensitivities and problems reported by her patients were caused by irritating personal care products. So, she launched her own user-friendly line which includes growth serum for eyebrows and eyelashes, as well as face spray.
Easy On The Eyes is based on hypochlorous acid, which is naturally produced by the body as part of its natural defense mechanism against pathogens and bacteria. While being incredibly gentle, it is a very effective disinfectant and can even soothe existing irritations. My husband had an emerging stye under his eye and within two days Easy On The Eyes had cleared it up.
Hypochlorous acid has been shown in clinical trials to be an effective wound healing agent, as good as antiseptics, but without their cytotoxicity (source). It really made sense during the COVID-19 pandemic when it was identified as a disinfectant of choice for medical offices (source).
I really love knowing that a spritz is not only gentle on the eyes and sometimes reactive skin, but it’s also safe and hygienic.
