Local News: Harps Announces Opening of Newly Renovated Store in Thayer (4/6/22)

Harps Food Stores, Inc. recently announced the grand reopening of its newly remodeled store, located at 129 E. Walnut in the Town & Country Plaza in Thayer.

“Come join us on Wednesday, April 27 at 10 a.m. for our Grand Opening Ceremony. The newly renovated 36,000 square foot Harps store will offer residents of Thayer and the surrounding community a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, including organic produce, as well as Harps Black Angus beef, all-natural pork and beef. poultry; delicious signature deli and baked goods, as well as well-stocked grocery, health and beauty, dairy, and frozen aisles,” a press release said.

Store hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

Harps Food Store in Thayer has undergone extensive refurbishment over the past few months and more changes are to come. The grand reopening is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27.

The Harps store at 100 Warmfork Road, formerly Town & Country, closed on Sunday April 3 and staff have been consolidated into one location.

“Harps is a 100% employee-owned company that operates 135 stores in four states including: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. Harps is the largest employee-owned company in the state of Arkansas. Harps was founded by Harvard and Floy Harp in Springdale, Arkansas in 1930. Since then the company has grown to employ over 6,900 associates,” the press release added.

In March 2020, Harps Food Store, Inc. announced the purchase of 20 stores in northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri from Town and Country Grocers of Fredericktown, Mo., Inc.
