Give bees a break: MeliBio unveils the world’s first real honey made without bees

BERKELEY, Calif .– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – MeliBio, Inc., the company using proprietary technology to make real honey without bees, unveiled its first product: the world’s first real honey made without bees as a plant-based ingredient for B2B customers and food services.

More than 100 members of the San Francisco Bay Area climate tech, food tech and investor communities were fortunate enough to be among the first in the world to taste MeliBio’s honey made without bees during this event. an event hosted at Cell Valley Labs, an incubator and space network in Berkeley, California.

After extensive R&D, MeliBio has successfully evolved its method of making bee-free honey at the manufacturing level, showing its ability to serve multiple customers for their non-animal honey ingredient needs. The California-based company is currently taking orders from existing and new restaurant and B2B customers for deliveries from late 2021 and early 2022.

MeliBio, Inc. has developed a scientific approach to replace bees as a means of producing honey, and provides solutions to several sustainability and supply chain issues in the broken honey industry valued at $ 9 billion. in 2020. Recent studies show that the industry’s reliance on honey bees alone is causing 20,000 wild and native bees to be forced out of their habitats and disappear at an accelerated rate.
