Dove has partnered with Hair love creator and defender of the CROWN law Matthew A. Cherry to launch a line of new hair care products for kids with curls, coils and waves.
The Dove Kids Care Hair Love collection was inspired by Matthew’s Oscar-winning animated short and feature films Hair lovethe main character of Zuri on each bottle wearing a variety of playful hairstyles.
The new collection of children’s beauty products includes shampoo, conditioner, conditioner and curl cream. The range’s packaging also features an uplifting positive affirmation – “I am caring, shiny and creative” aimed at boosting the self-esteem of children with natural hair and teaching them early on to love their skin and hair.
“Dove and I have a long history with Hair Love, which began in 2017, when the brand provided early funding for the project,” Cherry said.
“I am also a staunch supporter of the CROWN Act and have been impressed with the ongoing work Dove is doing to advance hair discrimination legislation, particularly by co-founding the CROWN Coalition. “
The products in the Dove Kids Care Hair Love collection feature a gentle formula and a fun scent that kids will love to have in their hair. They’re all dermatologist tested and infused with hair-enhancing ingredients like Shea Butter and Coconut Oil that deliver soft, hydrated, and healthy hair.
“Through this partnership, we’ll take Zuri ‘off-screen’ and into the real world to inspire a love of hair and build self-confidence in kids around the world,” Cherry said.
The full collection is currently available on Walmart.com and will be available at Walmart stores nationwide in January 2022.
